Macrame Braided Bracelet – Chain Pattern

I have been “struggling” with naming this pattern. Since the white part of this bracelet looks like a chain, I’ll call it “chain pattern” then :-). You only need to get familiar with weaving the first 2 rows of the pattern. Afterwards, just repeat the first 2 rows in the pattern till the length you want. In order words, it’s an easy project. Don’t believe me, try it yourself.

Materials Used

Cords used in this project is 100% cotton, each of them is 100cm (39 inch) long. i.e. 6x100cm or 6×39 in. Cotton is more friendly to the skin and feels more comfortable when wearing the bracelet. Other tools used: clamp or clamp clip, a board with a big clamp, ruler, scissor.

You can get the embroidery cotton threads used in this craft in my shop.

Braid Pattern

The braid pattern is as follows:

  • Number of cords: 6
  • Number of Rows: 2
  • Colour Used: 2

If you’re not familiar with the pattern diagram and how to use it, please read this post first.

Step-by-Step Making Instruction

  1. Cut 6 cords, 100cm (39 inch) each.
  2. Line them up in the following order. Leave 15cm (5.9in) on the top and fix it with the clamp. Fix it with a second clamp. Then follow the pattern to start braiding the first row.

This video shows how to make this bracelet step-by-step.
